The Building Department is responsible for inspection of all new construction and remodeling to ensure the structures comply with local building codes and ordinances.
Some of the departments responsibilities include:
- Reviewing plans for Code compliance
- Issuing building permits
- All zoning questions and enforcement
- Review and approve new construction, remodeling, repairs, and renovation
Asbestos Inspections
The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Division of Air Quality is requiring inspections and issuing approvals for asbestos renovations or demolitions.
