MOVIES ON THE BANDSTAND are shown Friday nights at dusk in September.

All movies nights are subject to weather and beach conditions.

Bring a sand chair or blanket for both locations. Bandstand showings offer limited bench seating.

Rock Dog

ROCK DOG (2019) 

JUNE 5     

Rated PG– A Tibetan mastiff living in a remote mountain community dreams of being a rock star. But when he heads to the big city to seek his fortune, his unprotected flock of sheep are preyed upon by a hungry wolf.

Puss In Boots


JUNE 12 

Rated PG Puss in Boots discovers that his passion for adventure has taken its toll: he has burned through eight of his nine lives. Puss sets out on an epic journey to find the mythical Last Wish and restore his nine lives.



JUNE 19               

Rated PG - A young girl befriends a wild mustang named Spirit after moving with her aunt from the city to a small frontier town named Miradero. Together with her two friends and their horses, she pursues a life of exploration, adventure, and danger on the wide-open plains.



JUNE 26    

Rated PG – A successful small-town football coach and his wife lead a surprisingly idyllic - if necessarily regimented - life with their family of twelve children. When dad gets an offer he can't refuse to coach a Big Ten football team, they move to the city, his increasing workload, and his wife's book tour, turn the clan upside down.


RUMBLE (2021)


Rated PG An aspiring monster wrestling coach, Winnie, takes on the challenge of coaching Rayburn, an inexperienced wrestler and charming underdog. Winnie and Rayburn aim to take down the monster wrestling world champion, Tentacular. Rumble is based on Rob Harrell's novel, “Monster on the Hill.”


THE LORAX (2012)

JULY 10 

Rated PG In a land where real vegetation is rare, a young boy (voice of Zac Efron) seeks to impress his pretty neighbor by getting a tree. But in the process, he encounters the Lorax, a cantankerous yet endearing creature intent on preserving the forest.

This movie correlates to the 2b1 concert being shown on the Bandstand Wednesday July 12th at 7:30.

Hidden Figures



Rated PG – Female mathematicians Dorothy Vaughn, Mary Jackson, and Katherine Johnson crossed all gender, race, and professional lines as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in U.S. history. Based on the unbelievably true-life stories of these women, known as "human computers", they quickly rose the ranks of NASA specifically tasked with calculating the momentous launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, and guaranteeing his safe return.


MIDWAY (2019) 


Rated PG -13 - In 1942, a few months after the infamous Pearl Harbor attack and a few years before World War II ended, the Japanese forces were once again planning to stage a sudden attack against their opponents this time near the Midway Atoll. Their plan, however, was intercepted, and the American forces arrived at the Pacific Ocean theater just in time to stop them. The battle lasted for three days, and its outcome became a critical turning point in the ongoing war.

JULY 31 (Harry Potter’s Birthday)

Rated PG – Adaptation of the first of J.K. Rowling's popular children's novels about a boy who learns on his eleventh birthday that he is the orphaned son of two powerful wizards and possesses unique magical powers of his own. He is summoned from his life as an unwanted child to become a student at Hogwarts, an English boarding school for wizards. There, he meets several friends who become his closest allies and help him discover the truth about his parents' mysterious deaths at the hands of a powerful adversary.

Paw Patrol


AUGUST 7              

Rated G - When their biggest rival, Humdinger, becomes Mayor of nearby Adventure City and starts wreaking havoc, Ryder and the heroic pups kick into high gear to face the challenge head on. While one pup must face his past in Adventure City, the team finds help from a new ally, the savvy dachshund Liberty. Together, the PAW Patrol fights to save the citizens of Adventure City.


ELVIS  (2022) 

AUGUST 14            

Rated PG-13 A look at the life of the legendary rock and roll star, Elvis Presley.

Elvis’ death on August 16, 1977, is commemorated every August in Memphis during Elvis week. 

Experience Jesse Garron’s Tribute to Elvis August 17th at 7:30 p.m. on the Bandstand.


MOANA (2016)  

AUGUST 21                     

Rated PG –an adventurous teenager is inspired to leave the safety and security of her island on a daring journey to save her people. Inexplicably drawn to the ocean, Moana convinces the mighty demigod Maui to join her mission, and he reluctantly helps her become a wayfinder like her ancestors who sailed before her. Together, they voyage across the open ocean on an action-packed adventure, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills her quest and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity.




Rated PG-13 - After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy's top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw, call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick's late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose.”


YESTERDAY (2019)   


Rated PG-13 - After a freak accident during a worldwide blackout, struggling musician Jack Malik wakes to discover that he is the only person in the world to remember The Beatles. Using this newfound benefit to his advantage, Jack begins plagiarizing the work of the legendary band to launch his career to superstardom.

“Yesterday” was released as a single on September 13, 1965.

SHAZAM (2019) 

SEPT 22                   

Rated PG -13 – We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! 

West Side Story


SEPTEMBER 29                

Rated PG - 13 – An adaptation of the 1957 musical, West Side Story explores forbidden love and the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds.
